Growing up in Massachusetts, Andrew spent most of his formative years exploring the wilderness areas and ski resorts of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Being an avid outdoor enthusiast, he decided to move to the Mountain State in 2002 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from West Virginia University in 2010 and then his Master’s degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University in 2021.
Andrew is an avid cyclist, snowboarder, fly fisherman, xc skier, paddler, climber, and bow hunter. He has commanded a technical background in each of these sports through the past 25 years. During his time in West Virginia, Andrew has also been an active member within each of these outdoor recreation communities. A life long learner, Andrew has continuously found ways to be curious about skills and opportunities to grow and help those around him.
Andrew currently works as the Executive Director for the Mountaineer Trail Network Recreation Authority and as the President of the Morgantown Area Mountain Bike Alliance (MAMBA).
Andrew has been a prominent figure in West Virginia’s outdoor community through his 15 years working at the outdoor retail store, Pathfinder of WV, and through his high-profile events such as the Motown Throwdown and Hops on the Mon festivals. When not at work, rest assured he’s either spending time with his wonderful wife Jennifer, riding his bike, hiking one of the region’s many fine trout streams, or taking photos of his friends and surroundings around the world.
