Leadership and more importantly change leadership is a distinct skill that Andrew has used to create, mobilize, and accomplish both short term and long range goals within the several outdoor recreation based organizations that he has the privilege of working within. Enclosed you will find a brief excerpt from one of Andrew’s articles explaining the role of the leader and the manager and how each work together to accomplish the overall goals of the organization. As Andrew has shown in his day to day operations, it is important to recognize that a leader who can also effectively manage is a tool for success in any organizational setting.
Administration: Mountaineer Trail Network Recreation Authority
Executive Director Portfolio
As the first Executive Director for the Mountaineer Trail Network Recreation Authority (MTN) Andrew currently facilitates all administrative functions to support the mission and goals of the authority and its 16-county network in north central West Virginia. Andrew built and facilitated several strategic initiatives that encompassed planning, grant management, asset management, local stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and large-scale implementation of economic development projects across West Virginia. Attached is a portfolio of strategic planning documents, RFPs, MOUs, branding guides, signage deliverables, and other project outcome deliverables from Andrew’s time with the MTN.

Rental and Retail Operations
Over the past two decades Andrew has worked and operated in both rental and retail environments fulfilling his goals of getting more people outside. Enclosed are examples of the current operations that Andrew is involved with as Program Support Specialist with Adventure WV as well as his past work as Store Manager for West Virginia’s largest outdoor retail store, Pathfinder of West Virginia.

Administrative Ethics has been a cornerstone of Andrew’s coursework while being at West Virginia University’s Master of Public Administration department. Being able to identify the ethical norms that administrators must operate within and how to create ethical cultures within their organization are crucial elements by which Andrew has learned and implemented in his current role at Adventure WV. Enclosed are a number of research articles that Andrew has compiled during his time within the Master of Public Administration degree program.
